St. Ann's Academy and Hotel Grand Pacific wedding
Like a lot of couples Danielle and Byron met using an online dating service, so experts told them they were compatible. What experts could not predict is how Danielle would know Byron was the one, a Parsley shaker. Let me explain - Byron planned a date where they would hike up a mountin and have a picnic. It was a chilly day so Byron packed soup, and he thought to bring a shaker of parsley for the soup. Danielle was so impressed with his thoughtfulness she knew he was the one.
Danielle (like me) is from Manitoba so she has a soft spot for snow, so Byron waited for the ground to be covered in a thin layer of snow before he proposed. He took Danielle out to dinner and went for a hike up to the spot where he would watch and wait to see Danielle in the dragon boat. With the sprinkling of white around them he asked his love Danielle, to marry him.
I think Byron is the only man I have met that I can say comes close to being as thoughtful as my husband. My husband thinks of everything and is so incredibly thoughtful he still leaves me love notes. I hope Byron is still this thoughtful after 8 years as my husband is. Byron had 3 gifts for Danielle on the wedding day, wrapped in the wedding colours and with a dragon fly card. He gave her a necklace to wear on the wedding day. The next package was chocolates for the ladies, and the final one was a shaker of parsley to make her smile before she came down the aisle.
The service was thoughtful and the way they both gazed at each other I'm not sure they even noticed that there was anyone else in the room. After the ceremony they walked down the steps in a tunnel of bubbles. Danielle definitely had the day packed and made sure to get every aspect of beautiful Victoria in her photos.
I have to admit I really racked my brain trying to figure out a way to have it snow for Danielle... but it couldn't be cheezy or messy... at 3 in the morning I awoke with the perfect idea, rose petals! I stopped and picked up 6 roses and we sprinkled them from 2 storries up over their heads to create 'snow' I have to give my assistant Bonnie props for running up and down those stairs over and over - Thanks.
The perfectly decorated room was intimate and dreamy. Oh and the chocolate cake... a little bit of heaven!
Just as I was leaving we ran next door to the parliment buildings to get a couple shots with it lit up in the background. The perfect ending to a fabulous day.
