Giving Blood - a family trip
Someone once told me that if you know someone that gives blood you're more likely to donate. Maybe that's why I give blood. My father used to take us all in to Winnipeg (an hour drive) once every 3 months so he could donate blood. We would sit in the waiting room staring at the cookies and donuts wishing we could donate so that we could have one.
So now we have a family outing to give blood. Last Thursday was the first time I have given blood since having Taylor, (you can't donate when you're pregnant or breast feeding). After I donated blood I came around the corner to find Haydn feeding sugar coated cookies to Taylor! Not feeding her the healthy snacks I packed… look at him trying to convince me its a good thing she is eating cookies. So funny.
Giving blood is easy, eat a nice big meal and drink lots of water before you go. Then you fill out a bunch of questions, sit in an easy chair and they take your blood, and off to the cookie table! They reward you with cookies and juice! Thats why we give blood not to help people or save lives ... for the cookies ;)
Now you know some one that donates, so off you go. www.bloodservices.ca
