Welcome to Orange Frog Studio. My name is Melanie. One of the first things you will notice about me is that I have a lot of energy, excitement and love for what I do. I have 3 loves, Graphic Design, Photography and my husband Haydn.
I think I have the best job in the world. I get to photograph people during the happiest times of their lives. It's certainly one of the few jobs where I can ask a group of people to jump up in the air, and they actually do! I also get to use my Graphic Design skills to create custom photo albums that reflect your personality and taste.
With an extensive background in graphic design and advertising I can do just about everything involving images and text - whether that means photographing your wedding or new baby, or simply promoting your business. I currently teach graphic design at The Victoria School of Business and Technology, and work on everything from ads, business cards, rackcards and logos, to newspapers, magazines, and car wraps.
Yes, I did get that expensive piece of paper and packed my head with all the information I could, studying Graphic Design and Photography at the University of Manitoba (I completed my thesis in 2002). Graduating was not the end of my education, however. I continue to spend a lot of time every week keeping track of and educating myself about the latest techniques and programs in the Graphic Design & photography world. My photographs have won awards.
I’m able to create most anything I/you can imagine. I never seem to run out of ideas, and inspiration I’m pretty sure I should have been 2 people. Luckily Ashley has just joined me. She is currently studying Graphic Design and Photography. She is an amazing student with talent and personality pouring out of her. She has fantastic ideas and we work together to make them a reality.
